Recommend me some lowering springs please

Recommended Posts

Hey all

Just today i got myself a deal on a v5 sti type r. pretty good buy imo.

Its on stock shocks and springs atm and am not liking the look of the wide gap between the wheels and the guards so wanting to lower it a bit.

Ive had a search on google and on the forum but still cant decide on a set of springs so am asking for some more opionons from you guys.

I have considered coilovers, but the cost is a bit past my budget with having to cert etc so im just going to stick with springs.

I have noticed that alot of people are using tein h-tech and s-tech springs, i like the drop from the s-tech but apparently their not to good for stock shocks. I have been reading up on H&R race aswel and they seem to be good.

Im just after some opionons and feed back from you guys on springs that you have or had. I really do want the best of both worlds, good drop in height while keeping good handling, but i see thats not really going to happen unles i go with coilovers.

If anyone can help me out here it would be greatly appreciated :D

Thanks in advance guys!

I run HKS springs in my Legacy and have fitted a set to a BH Legacy also, can honestly say both mine and the BH are the best handling Legacy's I've been in, rather firm though. Might be worth a look

dont get tein s-techs...the 's' literally stands for stylish-spec...they handle like pillows /quote]

All cuddly like a stinky old moulded cloud :D

haha yeah i had another read up on them and probably will pass. Might be settling with some H&R sports

I have a set of 1 month old Tein springs if anyone is keen? Just took them out of my B4 when I traded it in for the GT-B as the GT-B has adjustables, which leads to my next question.

How are adjustables adjustable in the rear? Who can do the adjusting, ie is it easy for some random like I to do or should my local mech handle it?

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
