engine mounts

square. the reason for this being better is they have this bit of metal which will only allow the mount to only move a bit if its broken, vs round which when break just end up being two bits of rubber - excess movement which cause stuff like front diffs to break (as i found out h hard way)

and yes both will fit.

Round are fluid-filled, square are solid rubber. The square ones break a lot less too. It's hip to be square.

Also turbo and N/A are different. I put some square N/A mounts in matts GTB since i had them lying round and both his round ones had died.

Yeah, the N/A ones are smaller, and no where near as stiff, so apparently the engines all over the fucking place!

Ive got 2 here joe if you need them. Got them off tony but they wouldnt fit my motor

hey cheers for that bro..........i already scored sum off TM and I fitted them up today. Got the job done and learnt a lot in the process..........check out how fucked that passenger mount was. as soon as I jacked it up it just dropped away from the top half. I think its been like that for quite some time. The drivers side one was ok.

prick of a job..........don't wana do that again in a hurry.

I would recommend taking the radiator out next time because the extractors started to hit the fans as we raised the engine. Luckily it didn't limit the height we needed. I would also recommend taking off the brace that sits under the top mount.........I didn't take mine off strait away but when I did it made things a little easier. Pretty tight space to work in especially the drivers side but a little perseverence and I got the damn things out. I put rex ones back in they are solid rubber square ones.

quite a noticeable difference in reduction of engine vibration

The brace that sits under the top mount, didn't we tell you on Thursday that you would have to take that off?

Anyway, good stuff. Did you take notes / pics of what you did for future (anyone else's) reference?

yeah u did tell me ;D................but then someone else who has actually changed their own mounts on a BC5 told me they didn't need to take theirs off so I didn't........at first.

nah, couldn't be arsed taking pics but happy to talk others thru it

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
