Low profile tyres on 17" wheels

I have a V7 WRX that has some 17" OZ Racing wheels and had some mean Bridgestone Potenza tyres on it (45 - profile), I have just changed to some cheaper ones that are a bit more low profile (40)... Is this going to stuff up my acceleration??

You'll get better acceleration and slightly less top speed. Speedo will read marginally fast too but only about 2-3% which is within the margin of error anyway.

That is what I was thinking (physics wise it makes sense). Have only taken it for a short drive since changing tires... and the acceleration just wasn't feeling as good!!! prob just paranoid X)

The acceleration still feels slower... hard to explain but cannot feel as much G-Force!!

What are the before/after treadwear ratings? Could be a large difference in 'stickyness' between the two perhaps? :-\

Think your right, went for a short spin just before (coldish night), and they are starting to grow on me (wish I had a FMIC).

Still haven't had the chance to have a blat on the motorway yet!

Not sure about the treadware rating, but going from $400 a piece tyres (even though they were 5 years old), to $160 a piece ones you really notice the difference... the car doesn't grip to the road as much as it used to, I can get it to slide a lot easer, esp. in the wet!!!
