1996 GTB I think?

Hi there, I think I have a 1996 GTB (has bilstein shocks ETC) although it has been registered as a GT. My primary turbo is on the way out and I need to know what turbo to buy (VF 16 VF 25)? Feel free to car jam it to see if it is a gt... Plate number ayp291... Any help will be most appreciated.

hey paul welcome to the club on the plate with the vin and chassie code there will be a code BG5 followed by a , A,B,C the bg twin turbos had a few options, might need to see what you got on there now, where you located?

Yup, that's a BG5B GTB, with EJ20R. Your primary turbo is a VF18.

Be glad it's turbo failure, and not big end failure.

i have a vf18 sitting in my garage u could have ,its a Little Noisy but there is No play and turbo tech says its still in good nick(from a visual check)

I'm not much of an expert on turbo's to be honest but a noisy turbo sounds a bit knackered to me? But i have been wrong before. What makes it noisy and does it matter?

Wow... Nice work. To tell you the truth my Subi is still completely stock and i'm kind of proud to keep it that way... Makes it different from most others I recon

use to every weekend but cut it back due to everyone being short of money good mates with wreckers and pick a part

Oh ho ho. "So is mine"

There's something awesome about having an awesome engine under the bonnet, yet the exterior totally stock. Nobody would know.

That said it does have the exhaust... But that's it.

Anyway, i don't advise the conversion unless you really want it, and it sounds like you are quite happy with your TT.
