ej20 intake manifolds

heya,

i have an ej20 legacy closed deck with sti internals and gtb solid lifter heads running a possum link and td05h 16g turbo split rails and sti yellows

What coils are people using on the 1 bolt coil gtb heads and do they just straight plug into bc5 coil on plugs type plugs ? is there any benifit in changing to the sti (diamond) coil pack and wires?

what is the best thing to do here as i have to change to something because my 2 bolts dont fit

also the main thing at the moment is an intake manifold

im after something that will be suitable to fit the heads im not worried about the rest

what are the best flowing manifold or is the standard rs legacy manifold painted sti red going to do the trick?

upgrade to bosch coils. hec 716. cheaper and better performing in the long run. Theres plenty of writeups around on how to do it.

For intakes - STIv3 or 4. RS may not fit, even if it does and youll be stuck with twisted entry turbo. Go 98 STI or same vintage as your heads, but WRX.

To lift the maniold off a V5 wrx non sti what gaskets do i need to replace? Just the exhaust gaskets?? Im thinking 2 of if they are joined together side by side?

there are two little paper/cardboard gaskets under each side of the manifold. (4 bolts each side)

Go to armstrongs (see hopai for SI) and they are about $12 for the set. they have nice little holders to line them up making easy to put back on, you will see that when you take it off.

You will need to remove periphiral items off the manifold to actually get it right out.... fyi

Hopai still a member on here? Yeah they are $12 each, my mate works at Subaru down here. Plus a new turbo and exhaust gaskets. About $75 all up inc.

yup if you taking the turbo off ( hehe) sorry couldnt resist.. For others reading you dont need to take the turbo off to get manifold off however.

ok then im keen on a manifold that will fit then if anyone has one for sale on here prefere an sti one but then i spose if i go from bc5 rs/gt manifold then i have to change the loom? i was told that v3 sti did not fit

also is it possible to just swap to 1 bolt coil on plug coils and just plug and play or do i have to rewire ? or can i use a diamond coil pack and wires and just rewire that up? if this helps i have a possum link

im not really looking to upgrade as its not going to be super high power just something that is oem

im doin a twisted turbo set up anyways so it doesnt matter
