97 rsb wanting to put 96 sti v3 complete motor in

Hey sorry for making new thread on something thats probby been done a hundred times but iv just purchased a complete v3 sti motor (loom and ecu inc) and it will be getting replacing my ej20rtt (blown secondary turbo and head gasket) next week. Now my problem. Im a little confused on wat ill need to do to the ecu side of things. Do I need to repin my exsisting ecu or can i just use the sti ecu? Now iv been going through Reubens conversion (also the 56k) thread a few times and all the readings starting to do my head in lol. I have asked around and even the parts people at bayswater subaru napier (they think im mad for doing it) dont have any information at all about anything to do with this. Sorry hope this isnt to confusing

PM ReubenH, Drunkenmonkey, Gazzy2000 or mattapo. These guys should be able to give you a more clear idea as to what you're doing as they've all been there before.

parts people generally dont know anything. they know how to find a model code and know how to type. then the computer spits out a part number.

try asking a tech there. they should be more interested in your swap

That post in Reuben's thread shows all that needs to be done to get the STI ECU to work in the TT car. Its a pretty simple swap as far as re-pinning goes as its just swapping a couple of wires. Read and re-read that whole thread as it has been refined enough to make the whole process pretty straight forward.

Just went into the shop today to see how its coming along and now gota put new clutch in, they reckn both clutches (rsb and sti) r almost dead so pricing up h/d clutch as we speak but sti motor in decent condition, good compression, the vf23 has no shaft play at all, has new leads n spark plugs and the engine should be going in next week if all goes well. Next to do is the ecu and loom, then ill be away laughing.

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
