Spring Captivity

So just failed a wof on the carib for hte "suspension springs loose"

He said that the springs can turn inside shock. I jacked the rear up and the springs are captive from what i can feel. Yes they can "spin" but thats it.

Is this ok or not?

Just trying to sort facts as im a bit pissed off I got a pre purchase inspection done last week at the same place and they said there was nothing that would fail a wof and today got a wof there and they pulled it up on heaps of little things. Most are sweet and iv sorted but the suspension im not happy about.

Has been in the car like this for over a year as far as i know.

go get some spacers to put underneath the springs, get wof then take them back out, my rears in the wrx are the same they are captive but you can spin them slightly if you try, and they do get picked up for a wof.

i can take mine in and out just by jacking the car up lol.

autolign do them. easy fix.

Iv got spring compressors handy so thats sweet.

Can you just get like rubber spacers is that right???

It wouldnt need much to be tight i guess.

Im just mostly pissed off cause they told me there was nothing wrong with it wof wise .

yea they are rubber or urethane or something, i have 25mm ones(which is why i dont leave them in), can get thinner ones though.

A friend had a problem like this in his wrx about a year ago, turns out spring was damaged from a previous crash, lol, but when we went to mag and turbo who originally did his springs they said that the warrent officers arent actually aloud to physically touch/move the springs in their warrent checks... Not sure if he was talking shit or what :S

The only things we can remove are child seats (to check the seatbelts) and anything in the boot to check the spare wheel security and for warning labels on space savers. Anything else is fair game.

and the funny thing is, if the boot is full of crap, you can fail it. even if it has a spare thats bolted down but cant check it.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
