Trailers

Is there any rule saying trailers have to be welded by a certified welder.

Say for a scratch built item.

Obviously youd have to be able to weld decent enough.

What checks are a trailer subjected to when registering or is it as simple as licensing and as long as it passess a wof inspection then its ok?

anything under 3500 can be made by a competent welder, only certs needed for heavy transport,

Use New steel and as long as it pasts a warrant then all is good...

can register without a wof and then get it wofed ...

I have built or rebuilt around 6 trailers in the last few years...

I have sat and passed a 4711 in mig welding though so i do know a bit more than most :)

What sort of cost you looking at for steel to build one?? Aint looked at steel costs since i was at school.

To build a tandem car trailer from scratch thats braked im guessing you looking at $3k...

Which you can buy a 2nd hand one for that...

Hmmm

yeah for heavy duty hubs and stubs, springs, and brakes (NZ/US built stuff I would not personally look at anything chinese built ) you are looking in the excess of $1500,before looking at the steel,

case in point we had a trailer built for us late last year

4mx2.1m tandam, braked on one axle,3000kg hubs and stubs fully galved and it cost us in excess of $9000

Yeah it is for the 42nd traverse, and any of the other tracks that are used around here.

We had it built for the race really as it is a bit large for the other access tracks :)but we have smaller trailers and van mounted racking for them :)

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
