Cambelt specials at Winger Greenlane

One of the boys in the parts dept told me about a special being run soon.

Cambelt, tensioner, adjustable idler, both flat idlers, the toothed idler and a crank seal. All for $345 - $395, depending on early/late etc.

And a waterpump kit is available too, waterpump and gasket with thermostat and gasket for $99.

Both plus GST, and all genuine Subaru parts.

I think its going to run for a couple of months, so you have a bit of time up your sleeve.

I just rung and didnt mention anything about this special and asked how much for a cambelt change on a 2002 wrx sti and they said $1100-$1300 + GST!!!!!

But did you ring up for a cambelt CHANGE, or the PARTS special? That quote will include EVERYTHING + labour...not the special on...

Ahh i see i must learn to read... Was going to say thats far too cheap for stingers!!! HAHA stuff that i can get all that changed for cheap as chips no way i would spend $1100-$1300!!!! Thats daylight robery haha

i have basic mechanical skills, can swap out an engine etc, would I be ok to change my own or are they more complicated tahn they look? way I see it, remove old belt, idlers etc, put on new belt, line up marks with marks on cam wheels, bingo. At that price may as well do my SF5 motor before I drop it in the RS, its done 70k's but cant hurt to do it a bit earlier eh? and shitload easier with the engine out, did the rear main seal and rocker cover gaskets even though they were all fine so may as well go the whole 9 yards

theres a few pages out of the manual floating around here somewere that tell you how to do it, if you can find them, have a read.

done a few myself, followed the manual, was relatively easy
