Im just about to gut the interior of my car, and need to remove the airbag system in the process.

Anyone know how to do this properly without setting the things off and taking your head with it?

Im assuming its battery disconnect, abs fuse out, steering wheel off, dash airbag out, remove sensors and wiring and other airbag stuff ie aribag light?

i think in the side of the wheel theres a screw you can turn to dissarm the bag..... also your belts will prob have pre tensioners in them too... wicked fun wen you set em off.

Ok, cheers guys.

Yep the seatbelts will be coming out too.

Looks like I will be driving it round using a swappa crate as a seat for a while - jokes.

If you intend on your car remaining road legal:

http://www.ltsa.govt.nz/certifiers/virm-in-service/general-07-v3a4.pdf

Page 33

A motor vehicle that has had an airbag removed or made inoperable must either:

a) have all OE signs lights, or other devices that indicated the vehicle was fitted with an airbag removed, or

b) if the signs, lights, or other devices cannot be readily removed, have a label that indicates an airbag has been removed permanently attached in a prominent location where it is clearly visible to any occupant of the seating position that was previously protected by the airbag.

9. A modification that affects an airbag system must be inspected and certified by an LVV specialist certifier, unless the vehicle is:

a) excluded from the requirement for LVV specialist certification (Table 7-6-1), and

b) has been inspected in accordance with the requirements in this manual, including those for equipment, condition and performance.

here is how I do it

disconnect battery

turn on key(hopefully drains any electricity lurking)

go have cup of tea (leave for half hour to drain the capictors)

in the side of the steering wheel there is a screw in each side(maybe a TORX or Security TORX) undo these

remove airbag and centre trim

unplug from clock spring

remove clock spring

put on trade me

heehehhehehehe

From my service manual back when i was installing a momo into my BC2

* Ground cable must be disconnected for more than 2 minutes prior to servicing the airbag system

* Use ONLY a digital multimeter and DO NOT check continuite of any airbag or pre-tensioner circuits

* DO NOT apply multimeter probes directly to the harness - use a test harness

* Dont drop any components or expose them to temperatures above 93degC

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
