Slight tapping on acceleration??

Me again....

On hard acceleration, I have a tapping noise from the engine...not major, but certainly annoying! It's under warranty, so would you advise getting it looked at?

Yeh...The garage said it was just pinking due to the fuel??? Under question!! They put some fuel enhancer in, so I'll monitor it!! I have been running Caltex 95...

I have filled with Shell 95, just to see if it makes a difference..

run 98 man! the car is tuned from factory to run on 100 octane fuel.

91 is water

95 is like a light beer.

98 is a heineken

100 octane is a 40 year old whisky.

I've got 4 bottles of unopened malts in the cupboard...all the way from Scotland.......might pour a bottle of that in? See what noise it makes then....

I'll fill with 98 next and see how it goes.

98 is the absolute min for this particular model

lol I recently done a wee raod trip round the south island and I found myself at the computer planning where I could fill up with 98 along the way - now thats comitment! There is no way I'd even think about running 95 in my wagon!! 98 all the way!

mine still pinks on 98, theres nothing u can do about it, prob on 100oct it would be ok 90% of the time, but they have very agressive timing maps from factory
