Wonder if this could be a reason why mine has mysterious miss at 6K and over

*Madmike wonders if he should check his

SNAP!? :P note my theoretical objections to this mod due to dwell timing haha

the 2 topics are not related, hence the seperate topic....

madmike said this setup works fine on his car. he has also just mentioned in the other thread i quoted he has a 'miss' over 6k rpm.

yes. its related. and i was talking to him anyway.

regarding your 12V - find the wiring diagrams of both setups. youll see the V1/V2 coils had a common +12V. use that

The mysterious miss was one reason i performed the wasted spark modification.

The miss was using standard coils. And this mod was performed as part of the "tracking fault down" process

And as far as the dwell time issue goes..

Am i wrong in thinking that the computer learning would be able to adjust itself to the increased dwell time of the wasted spark coil?

wire the 12v directly to the battery and leave it over night, if your lucky, it will give you a flat battery, if your not lucky, you will have a sweet camp fire to dance around.

Lol, hello. I made that wiring diagram. I should point out that it's more or less a guess, and the subject of dwell timing was indeed brought up with it.

I eventually decided to give up trying to be helpful and be thankful i run an ECU that only has 2 igntion outputs :D

I.e. My official line is don't copy that diagram! I should actually probably take it down off photobucket... It's very likely not the best way of doing things.

Mine has been running the setup in the diagram for about a month now..

Car made 146.9kw on the dyno with good AF ratios at 15psi

And the miss i have has now been diagnosed as weak valve springs.

They "learn" to a point but it will only adjust fuel and timing at the most. Wanting it to "learn" that you've completely changed the ignition setup is asking a bit much of an ECU that was made over a decade ago ;)

Very true..

All i can say is on the dyno mine ran fine.

AFR's were good and apart from the miss (which is mechanical)..

All the timing seemed good and the spark was strong.

I would welcome anyone else to give it a try and see if it works for two cars or if mine is a fluke

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
