Bastard balljoint, how do I get it off?

changing the front halfshafts on my terrano and I have to remove the steering arm balljoint and the top A arm ball joint from the hub in order to get the new shaft in, but I cant get the bastards off, have tried putting a nut on the end of the thread so I dont damage it, and hitting it with a engineering hammer- didnt budge. Then tried repeating the process after giving it a little heat with the gas-plant- still wouldnt budge, and ran outa gas. have tried leaving it to soak with WD40 for an hour or so then trying- no go.

Any ideas?

or u can try hitting the place where it bolts onto (shock load it)

sometimes outting pressure on it and then hitting it with a hammer works

im gonna need all new balljoint setups after I just take to it with the angle grinder haha

u may find that the tapered bit still wont come out heheh

i put power bar through onto the caliper and jump on that

well, it turns out after all my sweating/swearing/shedding blood etc that the top A arm balljoint on a terrano is connected to a steel plate that comes off with four easy 12mm bolts, and just unscrewed the steering arm in the middle hahaha so no ball joint destruction was needed in the first place.... FML....
