Which Pod Filter to Upgrade to.......?

My pod filter that is in the car has started to showing signs of rust .... I am wanting to replace it ASAP...

Would a Pod filter be better or a mushroom filter be better ??? for the turbo to breathe from.

I think a test was done a while back, and Apexi had both the best filtration, and the highest flow rate. Worst filtration were the HKS foam mushrooms and the Blitz steel mesh pods.

i like the foam filters..i have a foam mushroom filter from repco and comparing it to my old K&N pod the mushroom had alot louder spool and it seemed to be better... and i like the mushroom cos it has no oil in the filter..MAFs dont like oil on them haha

The apexi ones dont use oil either and as stated are one of the best filters available.

I also happen to have one sitting in my garage that was used for <50kms. :

I can vouch for apexi, and if you buy the mounting kit it comes with 2 steel bars that hard mount the pod in place, which is good for stopping vibrations to the AFM

He has a fmic so no go for factory box

ahar ;D Thanks for the pod wrx_lou.... it bolted straight to my 90mm orange STI MAF and the internal diameter of the pod is 90mm...

and my old adaptor was actually 76mm so it was restricting my inlet...not now LOL

anyone want a near new mushroom filter LOL + i have a 90mm metal adaptor and a 76mm plastic adaptor both for orange mafs
