Coolant blockage

Hi

Odd blockage problem. New water pump, new thermostat, checked radiator. There appears to be no flow of coolant thru the block and heads. The water is pushed out of the radiator cap and steam at the bleed bung. There is no oil in the water or water in the oil. With the heater lines clamped off, compressed air will not pass from the top coolant outlet to the inlet nor visa versa. The heater lines do blow thru. There must be a rust block somewhere in the engine coolant system. How do i find it or disolve it?

having the heater lines clamped off is the blockage if you want to bypass the heater core you need to loop the heater core back into the engine where the hose goes out of engine to the heater core and back to the engine where the hose coming backout of heatercore back into engine.

Just to clarify your post andy

Is the heater core blocked permanently or just while you tested??

IF permanently thats your problem as per turbo...

The heater core is ok, i have a g-clamp over the hoses. It seemed to get hotter if the heater was normal.

I will take the clamp off and try it again.

Put a hose on the inlet and verified that there is flow thru the engine. Tried running again a few minutes ago after checking heater flow. Overflowed the overflow tank and stream at the rad bleed. Nothing changed. Got me totally!

Take it to a workshop and get a TK test done

And if BG4 is not a 2L, BG5 is 2L

ok then what's a BG4? and not many OEM motors in a Subaru that age any more so could very well be a Ej20
