Recommended Posts

ive just done alot of research on this forum and other forums plus google about how to identify the LSDs apart from each other...

heres some pics of my LSD / differential

i havent seen any sound identification so far...everyone seems to be guessing...

one guys says this could be a quife LSD and one guy said it could be a AP SURTRAC LSD??

can anyone confirm please? it certainly doesnt look like a viscus...

so in saying that i just got a 1litre bottle of 80w90 i think it is and thats going to be no good if its mechanical ... so anyone want the oil LOL

To me it doesnt look like a mechanical plate diff. The fact that its a full sealed unit (as far as I can tell from the pics) suggests its a viscous. In fact in looks nearly identical to a V7 STI suretrac that I had laying around...

Can the centre be pulled apart at all? Are there any holes in the outer casing which you can see into the centre?

the people who installed my diff thought it was viscous . they put normal oil in . it had little lsd action. removed and cleaned and re fitted with proper lsd oil and turning it you could feel it doing its thing and working in . . . now its real tight lsd action . . its a sure track cam follower type lsd

remove Rear diff and drain oil then the back cover comes off 6 or 8 bolts can't quite remember. you'll see it what type it is . i removed my crown Wheel lsd assembly . you just remote side plates where the cvs go in then assembly comes out. but there are shims behind the plates which set the back lash . remember to keep these on the same side they were removed from or you will fark your dif

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
