hey there guys,

im having problems with my heater core and wondering if anyone on here know what work is involved to get it replaced or how much will it cost from a workshop.

Pretty easy to replace bro . A few hoses in the engine bay and remove some interior trim

hey bro, yea iv by passed the hose that goes to the heater core in the engine bay aye but im having trouble removing the trims inside lol. u back in aux yet bro

im back at work tomorrow bro if ya wanna come around and setup my evc lol. oh yeah iv taken the glovebox and the center where the head unit is. but i cant seem to get pass the two bars thats infront of the heater core

you have to remove whole dashboard out. remove the fan. then the a/c box. to get heater box out. and you have to detach heater hoses from the core. which will require removal of tmic if you have one

workshop will charge you around $1200 to do the whole job. that what i was qouted. ended up removing my dashboard and found out you need to remove a/c to get heater box out so just backward flushed with garden hose to unblock my core.

cheers bro, yup have removed the whole dashboard but managed to get heater box out without removing a/c. so tomorrow will flush it and see how it goes from there lol.

ok now im having trouble with no heat coming thru. everything all hooked up but stil no heat and temp is as normal. any ideas please

Air lock . Or blocked core . Or valve which diverts water isnt hooked up

Water isnt diverted, the have a full flow heater core all the time

Its the air flow thru the heater box that that determines either hot or cold (blend stepper motor)

sounds like heater core blockage , where abouts are you located

Costs are dependant on what core the car has - alloy core are entire replacement , copper is rebuild able

Both require entire dash out

time is 4-5hrs and core vary depending on type from $200 - $600

Ah yes sorry my bad . If thats not working then there will be no hot air aye ? Are both heater hoses the same hotnes ? Would that dictate if its blocked or not ? Did you run a hope through it ? When you go from hot to cold can you hear the actuator ?

sounds like a real pain ive got a leaky core. wat a night mare sorry for barging in.. :-\
