turbo upgrade

whats a good turbo to upgrade to on my wrx? currently have a TD05h but it looses boost as it gets up in the revs. Want something that is consistant.

make the td05 20 g itl hold boost right threw to redline as long as you have a ej25 lol if not 22 pretty solid turbo

or just get an eletronic boost controller, factory boost control isn't the best, profec b spec 2's are awesome if you know how to tune them

A TD05H should hold boost rock solid.if its not its somethng 2 do with your boost solenoid.td05 flows prety much the same as vf22 . . get a ebc u wont look back

What are you trying to achieve...its a pretty opened ended question..

Do you want low down torque, lag monster with huge top end, dyno queen, theres literally hundreds of different turbos you could use need a bit more info on what your after.

How many times does this turbo upgrade question have to come up lol ...its a no brainer to keep your TD05H and fix up other things to get it going as good as poss

Yeah I think he just wants to stop it from tapering the boost off . . Ebc will solve that and get the most out of your set up

yea i just want it to hold boost. it hits 12psi but then drops off to about 10-9psi. would a boost controller solve that problem?

Yeah a electronic one should .. Manual bleed valves dont work so good

If u only wanting 12 outa it then a manual will be up to the job for sure on the td05

I Wud reserve spending up on Ebc if waiting to hold 16+ psi then

Even then - why is it dropping off after 12 tho? Is it stock boost controller as could be solenoid issue

Have u checked for Cel codes etc

Are there any restrictions in the intKe and what and he downpipe is the cat still in as I have heard of collapsed cats suffocating boost

Have u checked all ur boost lines for leaks

Have u serviced ur engine etc new sparks and mYbe upper engine for cleaner

Have u pressure tested ur fuel state - lol maybe better to chuk in a new pump while u at it

Anyway there are perhaps lots reasons why it's slipping down to 9 psi mate

Check reasons first and some proper service of things then crank up the boost as this could be an indication of somethin else wrong with the setup and just shoving in a boost controller may not be the right answer

anyway in short - if u really Wana he stable boost u can take the easy but risky way of putting a controller but it's best fm diagnose the issue First as a td05h can more than easily hold 12 psi
