Windscreen Replacement - Rust

So I failed a wof due to a chip in my windscreen, so insurance is being lovely and buying me a new one . However, they rang up and said it had rust so it was a bit dodge, so got a panel beater to quote me a price. Whilst the price is reasonable, do I have any chance of reclaiming this panelbeating cost back from my insurance company (as it's part and parcel of the windscreen replacement), or are they going to be not so forthcoming?

Also I have learned from previous windscreen replacement dodgy joyriding bastard horror stories on here and dropped my car off with only about 9L of fuel in it, lol

nah rust isnt claimed under wear and tear unfortunalty it will have to come out of your poket.how bads the rust?

Bad enough for the windscreen people to want me to sign a disclaimer saying it's not their fault if it falls out due to rust .

$276 of panelbeating so could be worse!

thats not too bad.panel beateers usually charge out 70-80$ dependng per hour.plus welding andpaint thats quite good.i remeber at my oldshop i worked at i was the apprentice so i always got the rust jobs.the were the easy $$$$ ones.but yeh 270 is cheap.

Yeah that's a decent price for some rust work. And you'll be best to get it done while the glass is out, they normally charge up to $200 for removal and re-fit of glass alone, so when you're getting that done under insurance, get the rest done now as well.
