20mm Sti rear Sway Bar vs Stock or None (same diff lol)

Well,

Nothing really new to report here, just another blurb about the goodness that comes with an upgrade.

I took the lil wussy factory sway bar off the stb after getting a Sti rear sway. The bracket bolt seized (as per my wanted ad) so I removed the whole thing.

Yesterday, I drove from Auckland to Thames without the sway bar.... man... talk about crazy roll understeer etc.

I took the old bar to my dads workshop to get it sussed and when I came back he had freed the old mount so it was new sway bar time.

Loaded that up and shortly after was on my way back to Aucks.

The foz now powers into corners and the responsivness when compare to the prior is phenomenal, I was really impressed.

Being realistic though, the oversteer is slightly on the 'Too Much' side as it really did want to fly into the corners not roll around wide, considering that this is the only handling upgrade the car has I will need to be careful, but I am predicting that with a lower ride, new tyres, a little more bracing investments, she'll be sweet.

The ride home was a lil too sweet.... State Highway 2 nice and straight and open, no sign of police and suddenly there were flashing lights that seemed to come out of nowhere. The officer was cool though. $80 and a warning but props to the hiding place... then back to late rush 1st gear bumper to bumper from Manukau and heaps of Holier than Thou Auck drivers.... sigh.

good report on the improvements from STB - to STI sway bar. Wonder how the rear tyres will stand up now?

Yeah, it will be interesting to see. I'm more interested in how long it will take before the standard mounts break ;D

I found out today that having no sway bar is a fail for a WOF. Buggar.
