v3 intake manifold adaptor to v7 block

Recommended Posts

hey guys I have just put a later model v7 ej20t motor in my car and i am planning on using my intake manifold and loom. I have heard you can get adaptors to fit my 1996 (v3) intake manifold to the 2001 v7 block, does anybody know where I could get one of these adaptors or any other help?

cheers

Bolt Ur v3 heads on to the v7 shortblock and all will be sweet

Bolt Ur v3 manifold to the heads as per normal

That's what was done To my v6 when we put a v7 block in it

Still running to this day been almost 3-4 years ithink

Or

Get in touch with the member X on here as he seems to be in the know how to get v7 Ecu running on a older shape

You'll run into issues with your cam angle sensors. What you should be using is your V3 heads instead.

o yep will my v3 heads bolt straight up with no issues?

was planning (a) but being told i could run into issues with sensors etc i am now looking at doing (b) as it sounds resonably easy and if the heads will fit up I shouldnt come across any problems

(B) would be easiest as you wont need any manifold adaptors then, easy done

But by the time you've bought new head gaskets and head studs and had your heads skimmed (if your doing it properly) it'll probably end up costing the same if not more than getting adaptors made. and you'll miss out on the better flowing heads.

The only sensor drama you'll have has to do with the crank and cam sensors, but you can just use your old sensors and all you need to change is the trigger toothed pulley on the crank, old ones have about 7-8 timing points and new ones have 20+ timing points like this....

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
