Hks evc 4 issues

Ok so installed the above boost controller runs ok on wastegate pressure on low boost of 9 lbs switch to high which is 18 lbs and no go. When its hits say 12 i hear a weird noise like when you squeeze a baloon at the end and let the air out. So i have tightened all lines as much as possible so it might rule out a leak but has anyone come across this at all hoping the solenoid is not fucked and i didnt buy a dud

Cool yea i get stock boost on low but step it up to high then when it hit 12 it drops off and makes that fucked noise the other thing i didnt mention was im not running the vacuum filters yet as i cant make it into redline

Air leak bro

Check all hoses and intercooler y pipes

Basically all joints -

turbo outlet to red intercooler pipe

The y pipes Under intercooler

The Bov is sealed tight

The throttle joiner

Hopefully it's one of them

I have seen ppl have Bov not bolted properly to intercooler

Everything is tight i guessing its leaking somewhere only happened after a few days Was all good then it turned to custard jus wondering if the hoses aint closing brand new hoses to but purchased from supercheap but as i said its only past 12 lbs all of a sudden it jus starts dropping off to zero be good to get your opinion brad when you aint busy was even thinking bout returning to stock as its pissing me off

Will plumb back upto standard and let you know. Hope you get better soon bro

I'm in a similar boat lol

Had missing/surging issues and turned out to be faulty connectors to spark coils

Changed plugs while at it

Thanks to kingpin and jpar196 on that

Now have a boost leak as soon as u hit 9psi aaaagghhh!!

Hate issues

By the sounds of it, it's nothing to do with the boost controller.

If it is an air leak, if you have access to a compressor try pressurising the intake - block off the intake @ the AFM (a baked beans can is 3 inch haha) and crank 20psi in there.

If there is an air leak, that's how you'll find it in no time. It will bleed pressure off slowly (like 1psi a second) - anything more and start listening for a hiss.

The boost controller is going to either work fine, or it will either stick open (and give factory boost) or stick closed (and freeboost), what you're describing sounds like either a misfire (check the plugs, look for an extra black one) or an intake leak somewhere.

the car ran fine before he put the controller in - instead of farting around with a compressor just hook the standard solenoid back up how u had it before and see if its runs like it use to - if it does - work from there to get the evc working properly

How would a boost controller cause what sounds like a misfire or leak? Car fine on w/g pressure, hits 12psi starts farting around, sounds like misfire - he could be using a hole drilled in the wg line to raise boost or a $1000 EBC it still has the same result

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
