Easiest way to have a vac port on cooler piping

was wondering who has seen or has modified a intercooler pipe to have a vac nipple on it

reason being my turbo has no nipple to hook wastegate upto so its currently on the inlet manifold so i cant bleed the line (boost controller)

ive seen a few people use a small square of alloy - tap it out so a nipple can screw in then weld the small alloy square on

just wondering if anyone knows of a simpler way

not sure if there is a simpler way,if you can find a thicker piece of alloy you could just drill and tap a hole OR see if there is an unused,blocked of fitting on the intake manifold

you could just drill and tap it into housing . im going to put it as close to the turbo as i can on my intercooler piping ill just cut a nipple off a old manifold and weld it on.

for runin ill just use the intake like you but its not ideal i guess.

well its because i have a bleed valve (GFB) so if i bleed off the manifold its going to be sucking air in on idle (manifold vac) so its not ideal at all

plus i only have 2 ports on the plenum - and i have fpr - bov - boost gauge and wastegate

DSR use to sell quick taps - which required no welding just drill a hole in the piping - they dont sell them any more - anyone know where i can get something similar to that?

are the fittings alloy? pretty sure they arent - if they are im keen to use one and get one welded on

I just bought a dash 4 alloy weld on fitting threded fitting then a dash 4 whatever degree bend or a stright. Cost a few dollars (not much) but s the proper way ta do it if ya ask me . GSS sells the fittings btw

bout $5 bux then u can get whatever angle u want from them (expensive speed flow) or cheep off trademe. The push lock fitting work all good with vac hose.

All the bits look big in the pics but -4 is like typical bov vac hoise size...

so thats the piece you weld to the piping then a piece screws on to attach vac line?

Yep all good, heres one trademe but -6 I thnk so abit bigger, duno if he does -4 but both bits can be had for around $14 and then sum1 to give it a quick tig to your piping and will look a million bux and never leak etc ;D

ahh yes cos i want to use the larger vac hose - think its 5mm ? not the smaller one u normally use for FPR and such

yeah - my point was i dont actually know what to ask for ! which is the main reason why i cant find any online when i try search em up

i know 4an (dash 4??) pushlock is what to ask for - but the weld on piece?

ask for a dash 4 alloy weld on fitting they will know what your after
