You need to use the 6-speed shifter if you ever want to go backwards again.

Most of it will bolt up, however you will need for certain to use that driveshaft as they're incredibly short.

I believe you will also need to mount a stud for the bottom starter bolt as the 6-speed is for an 8-bolt block.

There may be other issues as I have not done this conversion myself, however for the most part The Lego Effect ™ applies.

Note that if you use the rear 6-speed hubs you will need the Brembos to match as your standard calipers will not work.

If he runs 2pot rear (r180), they are exactly the same bolt pattern as brembo rears and no need to change afaik..? Just need to change the rotor to match the brembo caliper. You can also get single pot rears that are made for r180 and also are the same bolt spacing. v4 r should have 2 pot rears in r180 afaik. Note you can also do a 6speed conversion on r160 but different rules apply to axles and hubs.

You do need a 6 speed linkage as mentioned, and either the drive shaft that came on the 6 speed, or one from an 4speed auto - they are the same length.

You can just use a normal bell housing bolt instead of a stud for the starter, they just wind out / in etc, its mix and match.

Remember you can also use your 5 speed starter if you like, but you must match the flywheel, starter and clutch assembly OR replace all with the 6speed / stater / flywheel / clutch.

The clutch fork used should always match the box your running, 5mt is a different shape to 6mt., the type of clutch / flywheel / starter combo does not affect the fork you need to use.

You also can reuse the bulk of your old gearbox mount, except the little piece that directly connects to the box - you need the 6mt one.

edit: clarification of historical content.

Youll need a 3.9 ratio R180, the 4.444 ones are no good as 6MTs are 3.9 final drive

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
