LINE LEVEL INPUT CONVERTER - LINE LEVEL to RCA's

Quick question,

Want to install a small sub into my 04 legacy.. but want to keep the factory head unit.

I know you can tap into the rear speakers for a 'line level input' (for amp)

Anyone know where to get these? or something similar?

 

The high to low-level converter is connected from the speaker outputs of a car audio system to the line level inputs of an amplifier.

With this converter, voltage is stepped down to reduce the high output level of the car audio system to match the more sensitive line input of the amplifier.

The FUSION HL-02 is ideal for use with OEM car audio systems where no RCA outputs are present

You really don't want to convert a speaker level signal to line level.

They sound awful.

Does your head unit have line outputs ?

Nope.... i have a jdm 6cd unit. Can only get 88.6 ow

How much were they from supercheap? Ripco had some budget ones for $21.

How did you wire yours? My speakers are in the doors :-\

I really can't remember a..

I wired it in the back of the headunit. them ran the RCA's from there.

fortunatly my old alpine amp has low and high level inputs. But I've seen these at Jaycar for pretty cheap aswell

The one I'm interested in has low and high inputs aswell. If I tapped into the rear speaker feed. Would that mean the rear speakers won't crank as loud?

Im not sure but I doubt it would change to much. Personally I would try get a 4 channel amp and run your rear speakers off 2 channels and bridge channels 3+4 for the sub

yeah they're pretty cheap and I've also heard good things about them. Let us know where, how much and how good they are.

rigged one of these up for my Mrs car. 18 bucks from Jaycar and about 5 minutes to solder the wires up, sound is very crisp and clear.

How come its got 6 wires? 4 for speakers and 2 to ground it?

Yeah, running a small amp to power a speaker box in the boot(wagon). Didn't affect noise level in rear doors at all.

Yeah brown is earth but unused in most cases
