whats the main reason for boost cuts?

the legacy gets boost cut every time it reaches full boost,around 3800rpm.

other than that it runs mint,no hesitation/misses etc....

dodgey boost solenoid? or a leak somewhere?

Boost cut can come from in some cars hitting a certain psi amount - like 18psi bam no more boosty for you - if this isnt the case it comes from going over a certain voltage / frequency through AFM at a given rpm

I would be looking at trying a different AFM just to cross that off the list, and checking for leaks under boost - might be something split and only creeping open with some psi behind it (or leaky BOV can cause same symptom if its vented to atmo).

Boost control solenoid has no bearing on it - all it does is open and close but doesn't actually read boost.

what boost is it running, is it running stock ecu, what turbo, we need more info

i was told it has a wrx turbo and i/c,racepro blaster 2 bov..

gets to 7psi then cuts

looks like stock ecu.

all in my other thread that no one replied to

boost cut on these will be about 15 psi

i would check to make sure you are not getting a cut from other means ( maybe knock)

Is it a full engine cut or is it a misfire? I'm wondering if its dodgy coils not being able to handle anything over 7psi?

But 7psi sounds like its in limp mode? Retrieved any CEL codes from it?

ah yes i have had two of them and they both got stolen so i gave up

ive also had 2 of them before, both stolen..

this is the 3rd....and really P****G me off..

ive tried everything to try and clear the CEL....but it wont clear.

its got code 45...
