Water System Pressure, Help!!

Hi there,

Wondering if anyopne can help me out here, having alot of pressure contained in the cooling system could mean a blown head gasket? also after taking car for a quick 2 min run after letting it warm up to normal operating temp the bottom ratiator hose was still cold as, with the radiator and top hose being warm, what could cause this?

When its cold, take the radiator cap off. And run it up to temp like you\'re bleeding the cooling. Watch for lots of bubbles coming out.

But if it is a headgasket, the coolant usually gets blown out of the overflow bottle and down the side of the car.

hey take the radiator cap off and run the engine, rev the car at 3000rpm or near abouts, get the car to operating temperature on the temp reader, and then feel the bottom hose, it will be cold, keep reving the engine and wait for the fans to come on, if there is lots of bubbles coming out you have lots of air in the system this could mean that you have a bad thermostat, head gasket is leaking or cracked block.

when was your thermostat replaced? recommend replacing this first
