wastegate springs

hi there guys. ive recently bought a tial mvr wastegate its come with no spring in it but the springs have been supplied.

i want to run 10psi wastegate pressure so ive found the spring guide.

now my question is where it says " black, red". do i combine those colour springs or does it mean i can use either of those for the neccessary pressure

Yeah i\'d read it as running both since red by itself is 4.35 on that chart

yep add them all up . they come with 4 different diameters of springs to put inside each other to achieve desired ratio

i have ran heaps of combos for these wastegates - they allways boost 0.2 -0.3 bar above what tial rates them too

ie i had one spring that would pull 0.7 bar

depends on where and how your wastegate is plumbed , manifold design , how it re joind the exhaust ...

Mines gonna be mounted on the up pipe and plumbed back

Uhh nope - a spring is a spring - ask anyone who\'s used one of these gates - they allways boost 0.2-0.3 more than they are rated too

Only on the vee band gates this is - the 2 bolt gates actually boost what they\'re rated too but springs are different dimensions

The spring will allways find the equilibrium point where pressure over comes the spring rate

Meaning it will allways boost what the spring is - mounting it in different spots won\'t change the boost pressure - it can have effects such as boost spike and boost creep however if flow isn\'t enough

Hey vadster - somewhere I have a spring that does 0.7 on its own and one that does 0.5 on its own - u can have em of u want
