Engine Removal

Does anyone know why my EJ20tt engine and gear box wont seperate? other then the angles. ive undone all the bolts and nuts from the bell housing and theres a definite gap between them, something seems to draw the two together whenever i pull them apart. ???

Behind the starter motor theres a 10mm allen key bolt. Remove that. Then wind in a tiny bolt M6 I think and pull out the pin. The pin goes through the clutch fork which in turn is held by the thrust bearing so you cant get the two apart.

that bung OR slip a flat blade screw driver down between motor and box and disengage the "release bearing" pushing it towards the motor carefully (dont force or bend it)

that pin wont come out. any ideas as to what would stop it sliding out?

if its seized in there, you will need to wind in that bolt. you should be able to lever againts the head of the bolt. try pushing the engine-gearbox back together a bit - maybe the clutch fork is exerting pressure on the pin

the pin itself will not twist, it only slides out

Yip i found wacking a big flat blade screwdriver behind the head of said wound in bolt you can pop it out. I coated mine liberally in synthetic lube and its pretty much fallen out ever time since. 3 or 4 by my count lol.

The slave cyl is pulled off also isnt it? May help/may not idk.
