Best location for oil temp and pressure feeds.

Good day,

I\'m looking at fitting an oil temp and pressure gauge in the future to go with my boost.

They are electric gauges and would have senders based in the engine bay.

Prosport have this nice wee adaptor plate which would make installation a breeze but would make my oil filter sit lower than I\'m comfortable with.

I tend to go on rough terrain often and don\'t want to have it any lower than it is so it doesn\'t get punched or damaged.

So what\'s the best options ?

Is there other easy ish locations to mount sensors for this ?

Is it possible to remove the oil cooler which sits between the filter and the block ?

Constructive ideas welcome.

removing the oil heat exchanger is pretty wise . they have a lot of benefits and mo real draw backs .

you can plumb a t in with the oil light sensor . its on top of the block sorta beside the alt

get a shorter oil filter ?

or you could get an oil filter re location kit and this would put the filter up in the bay and will have ports in it for sensors

+ or minus an external oil cooler aswell

you can mount them on the block using existing blanks in the casting.

I put pressure at the back of block next to the bell housing.

there is a removable blank under the i/c around the #3 cylinder... screw it out, screw in the adapter you can get ( genuine subaru part) and boom, 1/8 npt hole, ready for the taking. (unless it/s 1/4 npt... i forget)
