Dashlights stay on without key and car wont fire

Would need to check the diagrams but think it has positive, negative then the two coil sides well makes sense anyway. How did you test the coil pack?

checked the resistance. from what i can understand after doing a bit of reading if you were to connect a test light to the positive terminal of the connector going to the coil pack and the other end to one of the switch grounds the light should be on and then when you try turn it over it should blip off and on momentarily is this right ?

Pull all leads off and check one by one cranking it over with foot flat/in clear flood mode and plug earthed on mani. Will see if you have good spark or not.

did that now and the only time sparks is when i turn the key onto ignition before cranking it

if i connect the test light to \'postive terminal\' and \'negative terminal\' there is light on ignition and whilst cranking

Just try it how I said then you can work it back from there.

I tried it right now even turned the lights out incase im blind

in addition i get C.E.L so i plugged the connectors in and it gave me Error number 31 so Throttle position sensor however if memory serves me right that only causes shit idling and not no spark

how would you connect them in reverse ?

If TPS is out it could screw with it starting. Stock ecu and has TPS been played with?

tried a stock ecu E3 tried forester ecu A8 i think and tried Possum link ver5 ver6

Generally a test light is connected to earth so on the switched side you would have no light on til the ecu breaks the earth to spark then you will see light as the pulse (all with coil plugged in)

Don\'t think that\'s your issue have you tried checking spark at the spark plug ends of the ht leads like evowrx is saying?

yup i have checked spark at the ends of the leads

If you have power, earth and triggers but still no spark then it\'s pretty obvious isn\'t it?

What was primary and secondary resistances?

i am going to sound really NOOBY right here but to make hundred percent certain as to what im checking the resistance of is it between 1&2 followed by 3&4

Cant remember but isnt it 1+4 and 2+3? It isnt the nz new vs import ecu is it?

its the NZ New vs JDM but i have the immobilizer issue covered

Coil pack Ohmeter readings are as follows

1 and 3 = no reading

2 and 4 = no reading

1 and 2 = 12.77 K ohms

3 and 4 = 12.44 K ohms

On the coil side of the plug between positive and trigger 1 then positive and the HT tower of coil 1 and then between positive and trigger 2 and then positive and HT tower of coil 2

Very vague ranges as i\'m not sure exactly

1-5ohms primary winding (positive to trigger)

5k-15kohms secondary winding (positive to ht tower)

that is the only place i can get the tester to respond it has no reading between any pin on the connector and the ht side
