WRX v4 Clock gone super dim

Did search only found legacy clock removal.

One day i jumped in car and my clock wasnt working!!

It was rather cold, if that means anything.

On closer inspection when I reached my destination i could actually see it still works, adjustment buttons still changing the time, but it was so incredibly dim its not funny.

Lights etc make no difference. Far beyond normal headlight-dim stage

Any ideas??

To be honest I don't know. There's a guy on Trade Me who repairs them though.

Not sure if this has been resolved, but I had the same problem which was rectified by removing the dash and replacing the T10 bulb in behind it.

Yip, those incandescent wedge bulbs blow all the time. I'm very tempted to replace all mine with LED bulbs readily available in T-5 and T-10. I can't recall the number of times one of the 4 main backlight ones went - very annoying!

exactly what I have just done, Its annnoying though as the LED bulbs only work one way round so because the loom is so short in my STI I had to install them put dash cluster back in place ans plug it in and see if they worked, Its been out about 3 times now and I discovered that the Fuel light one needs to be a standard bulb as the LED one stays on constantly due to LED not needing as much current I guess?

So out it will come again, Beats replacing the damn bulbs every week it seems though!

As for light output with the LEDS, Nowhere near as bright, The display used to be a green colour but looks like a light aqua blue now and the red part of the rev counter is almost invisible
