What size speakers fit on the front door?

I look at that myself, but there is nothing to screw the speakers into.. i have 6inch JBL components - there was absolutely no way they would go in the factory spacers... those factory spacers in the pics only have room for the speaker cone and the foam around the speaker, not for the screws to hold em in... perhaps 5 1/4inch you could play with...

Yeah it does come down to what kind of spacer it is. Maybe there were changes in newer model Subaru's to the older ones. In older BE's that I've worked on, the speakers were screwed in as well as glued, and looking at those there are no screws holding it in. Very strange. May be able to drill your own holes though, as long as the speaker itself fit into the ring?

Yeah that's right, but the speaker will seperate from the housing... it may just require some persuasion.

You would think that... but to be honest looks like the speaker is actually part of the housing... odd i know, i'd never come across it before... only noticed it on 2002 + models... my mates 2000 B4 has a different set-up.
