Yeah that's what I did in my BG, traced around the factory plastic thing onto mdf, made the inside ring larger to fit 6.5' speakers. Works well, although its a close call from the outside of the speaker to the door card.

Bit of a thread dredge

What size to fit the front and rears of a BH 2002 wagon?

They use a funny 3 hole setup i've not seen before, with a crappy foam cone.

You reckon a 6.5 setup will go straight in seeing as most mid-range speakers have hole drillings for africa.?

Another question. For the rears I was thinking of just installing the woofers and using a crossover to eliminate the hghs, but not installing a tweeter. Just to help with bass in the back.

remember this is just the work car. Not out to win Audio awards or throw out 130dB in the local carpark. don't want to add any extras, cut stuff up or do anything I can't reverse.

Cheers for any ideas peeps.

6.5's should fit into the factory spacers, yep. If anything you'll have to cut off the weather shield, nothing that a hacksaw or even a set of pliers can't handle.

Doing your idea for the rears will work to a point. Unless you make your own crossovers, or use one from an amp, most commercial crossovers will still have a LPF up to 5 or 6kHz, so you'll still hear singing and vocals through the rears. If you want to cut out all but mid-bass, then you want to have an LPF of about 300 / 400Hz

Ok armed with a budget of $50 and a free weekend, it was time to whip out the rattly oem's.

For most this is nothing special, but some would like the how-to.

First pull off the latch surrounds, Lift the top bit up and outwards, then the bottom unclps.

then the window switchers, come out at the top first

Then this little clip

The tweeter cover pulls off

After that just pull it out from the door. There's seven or so clips. Take it easy.

THen you are exposed to the magnificence of the clarion 30w.

I was confused about where the Cross over was hiding, there'd have to be one or the tweeters would break instantly.

oops here it is!

IMG_9609.jpg

then time to make some surround to fit speakers that don't mount with mickey mouse ears

IMG_9614.jpg

IMG_9616.jpg

then to mark the drillings fit to old speakers

And all done. Time for the other 3

I got the components on sale from J-car and had a spare set of 6.5s for the rear.

Watching trade me for a double din that plays mp3's for cheap and I'll be a happy man

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
