help upgrading TD04 > 05 inlets

Iv got a tdo4 on my car at moment witch the intake goes under my manifold iv got a tdo5 small 16g turbo I want to put on my car but it is has s 90 degree bend on the turbo its ment for the earlier wrx or legacy gt single turbo were the turbo inlet cum up b4 manifold I need to take my tdo5 to a welder to cut off 90 degree bend off and weld the right size pipe so it goes inside the intake pipe thst goes under my manifold does any one no what size pipe that needs to be welded on my tdo5 insted of 90 degree thats on the turbo no so it will conect to intake hose (pipe) that goes under my intake sorry im hard to explain

Just measure the snout on the TD04. 2 1/4" iirc.

But you cant get 2 1/4" pipe.

I dont want to take tdo4 off until my tdo5 is all welded snd ready to be put on so does anybofy no yhr right size for sure ?

TD04 insert snout:

Diameter = 56.1mm

Height = 21.5mm

What I got also well 56.0mm. Just make sure that the inner diameter of the snout isnt smaller than the inlet to the TD05.

I also confirm those dimensions.

Just for interest sake, here is a really good example of a TD05H-16G \'small\' compressor housing rework that I had done.

The cast 90° inlet was removed, OD turned down and face of housing milled flat - then inlet was reinserted, welded and ID turned to produce this near perfect join.

Absolutely smooth and seamless!
