Boost Gauge

Hi all,

I want to get a boost gauge for my SG5 cross sport forester to keep an eye on what the turbo is doing (I don\'t think it is producing the boost it should).

It has been years since I\'ve purchased one - what are the current make/models to look out for? I don\'t want to speed a lot of money, all I want is a reliable and good looking gauge.

Depends how cheap you want to go, theres really not a whole lot wrong with a Repco/supercheap jobbie other than looking a tad cheap.

If you want something brand name look on Trademe, not unusual to find a nice brand second hand one for good price. My Apexi carbon face one was about $40 with a holder and its very cool.

Grab a branded one from strongs for the same money as a cheap chinese one which often read wrong by 1-2psi which can be life or death when not tuned and you wack it up to a safe 14psi which turns out to be 16psi and you have no idea coz you have no wideband.

So I bought a new Apexi EL electronic boost gauge off TM and put it in last night... either I have cocked up or the gauge is faulty... It is reading about 0.5 - 0.7 bar to high. At idle the needing is sitting just under 0 and then at full boost it is about 1.5 bar....?

The only thing I didn\'t install is the little air filter thing that sits in the same vacuum line that heads off to the pressure sensor.

Thoughts? Buggered gauge, or stupid installer?

or sit at like .5?

From memory when doing this it returned to + 0.5 bar

Back to the install manual I go then....

it might have a constant wire and a acc wire . u either have them wrong way round or both to the ign supply

Def does the full sweep when the ignition is turned on, it goes all the around to 2 bar then returns, my memory escapes me as to where it returns to.

Does anyone have an accurate wiring diagram for them? The instructions that came with it are rubbish.

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
