last night my check engine light came on, and the car started idoling like it had lumpy cams, has anyone experienced this before?

mine did this for a while especially when my BOV was fully venting. my idle was also screwed up not so long ago did a ecu reset and its all good

yeah have had one for ages, Greddy Type RS, i was playing around with it the other day though, softening and hardening it, maybe i made it too soft?

could of been ya BOV adjustment. they can cause ya car to idle irregularly if ya adjust it too soft i think?!?.. can cause ya car to run rich too..

its showing cel code 23. AFM right?

I seriously think that aftermarket BOVs vented to the atmosphere just cause trouble.

If you have you BOV too soft then its probably releasing too much air and the car is miscalculating the amount of air in the system.

yup had this occur when i just put my BOV on without adjusting it. turned out that the stock setting was too soft, then when i put it harder the turbo would surge a little under low boost, in the end i just went back to stock and had no problems since

to adjust them properly get your car to normal operating temp and then adjust it from there, you should be able to get it to a point where the car is not searching at idle and releases the air under low boost (well that is what you are aiming for)

-NOTE- by adjusting it at normal operating temp you will still have the idle searching while the car is cold but under normal driving conditions you will be fine

my car used to hunt when it was full atmo with it set up 50/50 it seems fine.maybe try resetting the ecu and go from there?

ive had to aftermarket bov on for yonks now with no troubles. but i recently did soften it up a lot, so should i wait till the car is warm then adjust the bov to quite hard, reset ECU then see what happens?

how do i reset the ECU, i couldnt seem to find the post where it is if someone could link me please!

Subaru ones rule. Seriously. Only $24 last time i bought one and they flow good and fit better than the ones from repco etc

The real one for my car i had to squeeze into the airbox and the lid fits real snug. The repco one just sorta flops in there

Can't beat the genuine subaru air filter seen some test on the internet that proved they were good. They showed that your chucking $$$ down the drain just to get a flashy named aftermarket filter with a free sticker.
