Clearing 4pots

ok so ive done some research on what will cldear 4pots but not alot has come up and theres alot of stuff on not all 17x7 clearing 4pots on some mags depending on the angle of spokes etc,

what ive got is a set of advanti racing star 17x7 ive measured my offset which was a little hard with the tyre still on and come up with +42 now im not sure but im hoping these will clear the 4pots.

Now if they dont i dont really want to or buy new wheels. Im wondeing if they dont fit if a set of spacers will help?

anyone been down this track ? any help appreciated cheers

I'm not going to be much help, I have a set of 17x7 rims here that are +48 ET and that fits over 4 pots with some decent space to spare.

Does anyone near you have 4 pots you could test fit over?

hmmm on the back of the rims i have a marking that says 4/8 ET is this the same?

Honestly dont know mate, I am pretty ignorant when it comes to tyre sizing and repucussions of it. But the set I am looking at have 48 ET stamped into the inside.

On the inside of your rims it should have size 17x7 in one area and then an ETA stamped in another area. Mine is on the inside of a spoke on the rims I am looking at and on the inside lip of my 17x8s.

yeah mines got the 17x7JJ stamped on inside of spoke then another with 4/7 ET stamped on another spoke

yep your offset is +47, with all wheels though it seems to be a case of spoke design rather than size and offset, and its really a try and if it fits it fits and if it doesnt it doesnt, on a wheel by wheel basis.

thats just my experience though, currently have a set of prodrive rims that are identical diameter, width and offset to v7sti wheels but do not clear brembos due to spoke design....

ohhh yeah these spokes dont really have any slope and are quite flat and stick out from the rim sooooo heres hoping that they fit but hey like ya said if they do they do if they dont then looks like il be needing new rims.. or sell the 4pots
