2005 WRX STI issues

Having a wee bit of trouble with me subaru

Crowe sport in Christchurch are telling me it's to do with the key not letting the car start

It has electronic keys

It was having trouble starting from cold , took it to Crowe sport and they cleaned out a few things but couldn't find anything wrong. Like it would turn over about 6 times then fire but revs would die straight away and would need to restart

Then I was driving it at 50km and reeves started dieng. Fuel pressure dropped then cut out.

Now only turns over but won't fire up

Crowe sport picked it up and said its to do with the subaru alarm and imbolizer. They took it to armstrongs who have reprogrammed the ecu and ordered new keys from subaru in Auckland

Could it the keys ect causing all this?

They said the keys can not be reprogrammed so have to get new ones. Witch I imagine won't be cheep..

Wtf. Sounds like a dieing fuel pump to me. Or crap fuel filter.

Subirex on here would be best person to ask flick him a pm. Sure there was a thread a while ago about funny electronic keys a while ago.

All fixed

A fuel hose from the pump to filter had swollen and perished because of someone had put the wrong hose on previously. That was causing my problem starting it from cold also
