Rear Main Seal Install

Hey guys I was in the process of changing my clutch when I noticed the rear main seal and oil separator plate were both leaking. A New oil separator plate was pretty straight forward to install but I'm having a hard time fitting in the rear main seal because I can't seem to get it in evenly, I'v tried almost everything I could think of still havn't managed to fit it in anyone got any suggestions?

Using a socket and small taps with a hammer, so it applies the load evenly?

Don't think I'll find a socket that big its 4 inch's in diameter lol. I went and got a pbc pipe that fits onto it nice but since its plastic it wasn't strong enough to keep hammering =/

I use the old seal press it up on the new one thats in place and tap it in. make sure its clean though.. Clean the new seal and block with brakeclean or similar use grey sealant on outer part of seal or it will leak, i use bit of Vaseline on mating surface of seal as well before installing to keep it lubed till the oil reaches it.

Also allow overnight for the sealant to dry

I always grease on outside and inside. Done prob 50-60 now. None have leaked. I use the flywheel bolts and 3 washers to press it in. Tighten them in order. Works mint.

Cheers bro it worked mint now just 4 axel seals and rear diff pinion seal left
