Electric seats

Hi guys

Have a 2004 3.0R legacy station wagon. Was wondering is it possible to change out the factory electric seats to put normal seats in?? Is there much work to do to it if it is acheviable?

Undo 4 bolts - then unclip some electric connectors.

Then theres the question - do you have side airbags? - do your replacements have airbags? If not then you will need a resistor to 'trick' the airbag computer in to thinking they are still in the car

Sweet. Cheers for that ADIKT. Will have a look when i get home about the side airbags. Are the side airbags in the seat are they? Also would my car be a 4th generation?

Yes in the seat - there will be a small patch saying ABS AIRBAG on the seat (by right shoulder on driver side) - side curtains live in the roof by the top of windows

The resistor stops the airbag light from illuminating (showing there is an issue)

Different model below - but shows the various airbags

Yes all BL/BP chassis are fourth gen Including the facelift

Pretty sure I saw somewhere that V7 seats don't fit. So that would mean v9 and below don't work.

Would like to know if the grbs fit though

There's a few US guys that have done it. Been a while since i've read through it properly but this guy claims everything other than the buckle is a straight bolt in

Won the seats second time round. Now to place them in

Haha let's hope the seats will stay in your car for a bit longer... that pair of seats have traveled all over the country, from Ashburton to Rotorua, then to Nelson and back to Wellington

They are still in pretty good nick considering they have travelled around a bit lol. Yeah I'll,probably hang onto them once they are in

were ya? now ive just got to figure out how to get them in and seeing what i can do about the airbags part. current seats don't have airbags but these new ones do.

Ignore the airbags. No way of connecting them, so no issues.

Its removing them that throws issues.

Was just about to reply to your pm dude. Yea don't think you will be able to get the airbags working. So just leave them unplugged and treat them as normal seats

Cheers guys for the replys. Awesome to know i wont run into any issues .. had a feeling i wouldnt be able to run the airbags since the car foesnt currently have them
