Difference between 2007 Auto and manual

Legacy05

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me the difference in the 2007LGT motor between the auto and manual models?

I know the older auto legacy's had less power in auto form. Is that the case here? smaller/different turbo? different fuel/timing maps?

cheers.

They are named differently but the engine itself will essentially be the same. EJ20y and EJ20x. its a TD04 not 05 in the older ones too. But 2007 models have the same for both. Map is obviously very different between the two.

Is this in relation to swapping an engine or just wanting considerations for what model to go for? There's also some EJ255 models out there too.

How different are the maps are they autos detuned for a good reason as I thought the stock autobox was good for a reasonable WHP? I thought it was based on RPM, throttle% and stuff (techical term), so it didn't care what was changing the gears.

I don't believe any difference in the actual motor, the ecu how ever is apparently detuned a bit for the autos. I don't know how big the power gap is now as both the auto and manual have the same turbo in the bp5 2006+ Before it was td05 in manual vs a vf38

Can anyone confirm that the engine hardware is exactly the same? turbo identical between them?

cheers.

Donor engine for a kit car I am building

I don't mind if the computer is different as I will use an after market computer. Its just the hardware I want to confirm is the same 205KW engine.

Not quite sure on that. From what we've seen on here in previous threads, the vf45 is on the 06 models and vf44 after that. Could have been the other way round though. All speculation though since no one really pulls these apart to check what bearings they run

For a kit car that will be seeing primarily track use why not go for a EJ207 for the semi closed deck and typically sturdier setup.

It will see primarily road/cruise use. I intend to track it but it wont be regular.

What year/car is the 207 out of?

The vf44 is definitely a facelift turbo and on (at least some) autos. I could be wrong on the VF45 but that is what i have gathered from reading bitsy forum threads. I thought the turbo numbers came out sequentially (i.e. a vf45 is released at the same time or after a vf44 or lower number)?

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
