V4/5/6 cluster in a V3 STi

Can this be done? I done a black faced cluster swap into my Gen 3 Legacy just by re pinning all the wires, Can the same thing be done in the V3 STi. Big fan of the white background and pretty lights and hate the V3.

V3 cluster (Does anyone know why some have the carbon fibre and others dont? Mine doesnt)

V4/5/6 cluster (im assuming all 3 versions are the same)

Version 3 and 4 share everything else so dont see why not the cluster . U can swap in the carbon piece pretty easy . One of the first things I did to mine . Also swap to a tacho that conviently doesnt have an airbag light symbol ...

From what gather i will need V4 dash and wire up a speed sensor

Just by looking at the pictures their different. Duhhhh haha. Anyone know if a V5/6 complete dash will fit into my V3. Then as a bonus i will get the extra storage and a cup holder

It fits, but there are mounting points on the chassis that are missing.

I think it's a few along the front window, a bracket near the shifter.

I also think the support bar thing also has slightly different mount points.

Version 3 is completely different dash loom and different plugs to version 4, also version3 is cable driven speedo and version 4 is electronic.

Version 4 is different again to both version 5/6 even though they look the same cluster they are not.

You'll have to re loom the whole car to go from v3 to v4

The steering column is another thing that comes to mind..you will need a version 4 one with the combo switch and steering wheel as they are all different.. then you have to find a spacer to fit the big hole in the firewall or you can mod the version 3 column with the version 4 but you will need a welder and some skill.. you could be opening a can of worms here for such little gain lol

Uhhhh yes so theirs a bit of work their. Yeah this idea can get waved on by and I will just get rid of the green tint and run white leds, track down the carbon fibre backing plate
