RWD Gearbox question

I've found a couple of boxes, One has the center diff removed and a straight shaft installed, and the other "Has had front crown wheel removed".

Which is better? does it matter? is welding the center diff a better way? I dont care about time and money just the end result when it comes to these options cheers

Removed the front crown wheel could mean lots of things . I hope they mean removed the whole front diff .

How serious are you ?you can just remove the centre diff housing and weld it up and put it back in . Without removing the whole box from the car . Then pull thr front half shafts out . Then go do some lame skids untill the gearset or rear diff ****s out in a month

Hey thanks man, Its cool. I do plan on ripping it up on the track rwd and yea Ill brake things but if the fear of that had the ability to stop me from doing what I wanted

I would have a very safe and boring time at the track... and probably still brake something lol. So you reckon there is no difference in having the diff removed and straight shaft in place? I dont know much at all about it but would it be losing less power to the wheel having a straight shaft in place? or would it be negligible if any.

If you can notice the power difference between spinning the front diff (with the axles removed) and having the whole front diff removed, then you're going to struggle to break traction in the first place!

Perfect thanks, while on the subject, if the suby diff and axles dont stand up to rwd so well, what would be a good solution to this? silvia rear end with alot of fab?

Nissan R200 diff should fit

or go buy a silvia/other factory rwd car

but yea sliders have been doing these for a few decades now, anything r160 & up? need adapters for brakes & thing iirc
