HELP :( Warning lights, What do they mean?

This is for a BL/BP Legacy 3.0r wagon.. Literally just jumped out of the car. Just driven 250km from the beach house back home and about 5km from home all of a sudden I get a beep and the engine light comes on. SI drive is stuck on sport and is flashing, the engine light is solid on. Temps are normal no smells or obvious sounds. Any one experience this one before?

What part of the country are you in? If its not instantly obvious where the issue is from then you need to either find someone local with a Tactrix or vag-com cable to connect to the car to read what the code is, or take it to a mechanic who may end up charging you a pretty penny for the task

I'm in Taihape... My neighbor is a mechanic he has a code reader at the workshop he will let me use tomorrow unsure if its compatible with my car yet though.. He told me knock sensors are a common problem based on the lack of symptoms of an issue other than the warning lights and limp tune it appears to be set on now.

This morning I ran the code reader and also made a recording of a sound which is no the healthiest I do not believe.

Really no sure if the sounds coming from the belt or if its a bearing or something. Anyone familiar with that code/error?

Is it avcs ? Could the avcs on one bank be stuck on full advance ? Or has the cambelt skipped a tooth ?

Are these things cam chain ? That noise sounds like a fkd belt or idlers .

I would be pulling the covers off and checking cam timing . How many km has it done ?

Internet seems to think you havent changed the oil on time and the solenoid is blocked . First action is engine flush and decent oil and a 15 minute thrash . Noone else mintions a noise tho

Yeah this is a chain driven EZ30 Its done 109,000km spark plugs were done at 100,000km Oil change was 1,000km ago as well as a general service at the suby garage in palmerston north.

Check vvt solenoids aren't jammed banjo filter could be broken, remove it and don't put one in
