info on purchasing car

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I'm looking at purchasing this V7 Sti. Does anyone here know the car or who built it? Or anything that needs mentioning? The car is down in Wellington. I'm from Auckland but I don't think these pre purchase inspectors would do a thorough check on these sort of vehicles. It currently has a green sticker for noise also, there is no cert for the mods either. but putting that aside i just want some info on the motor, as i plan on getting it road legal anyways.

There was a Trademe Listing but it was expired but here's a facebook link for the Marketplace that it's advertised in.

It's a V7 in white with these supporting mods.

- Masterpower r595 Turbo
- tial wastegate
-tial bov
-hks 660cc injectors
-detchwerks 650hp fuel pump
-custom steampipe headers
-full 3 inch exhaust
-excedy clutch and lightened flywheel
-hdi intercooler kit
-twisted turbo setup with full flexi downpipe

Probably missed a few things

Turbo and wastegate are brand new

Runs mint just had fresh service

Dyno numbers.

272kw @23 psi
229kw @16psi

I know the car and I know it is quick however to be completely honest with you I wouldn't touch it. The car gets handed around and is nothing but beaten on. The car had to have a lot of work done on it a couple of months ago and was all completed as a home job.

In my opinion the reason it hasn't been put back on the road is because its known the work that has been completed is masking a larger issue, it has been in the process of "getting cert" for yonks. Why would anyone in the right mind not just get the car a silencer and warrant and sell for way more with that much work and proven dyno power.

After I got ripped off with my car having the problems masked I wouldn't hope that on anyone.

sweet thanks, thanks for clearing that up. I do know that it has been on for sale for a while and was wondering why no one has bought it.
