It's not all bad newsuba, they have added my most desired feature for the STi of all time,

my mates Landrover has it already, now we don't have to miss out anymore...

eight-way power adjustable front seats

Subaru are a business.....they need to sell cars to stay in business.....its been developed for the U.S market, one which far far far more important to them the tiny NZ market.......would you guys have them not develop an auto model for that important market and then risk future company health because they don't respond to consumer demands.

Exactly they first need to sell enough "limp wristed" cars (which by the way they will sell a hugh amount more of) in order to fund the development of more specialised "drivers" cars.

"c spec" type vehicles have a very limited market.

What a pitiful excuse.

There are many manufacturers who can build specialist cars without resorting to a fey supporting cast.

Trouble with Subaru is they have got it into their heads to try to compete with the boring Toyotas of the world and bought into a new conservatism.

Now without any motorsport committment they will only get more boring and further away from their past glories.

Yippee !

As good a reason as any to upgrade.

Subaru are a mass market manufacturer, like most others, they have to produce "boring" cars with mass market appeal otherwise as a business model they'd never work. The problem here is that people have little,if any understanding, of how these businesses work you seem to think the that Subaru should only produce hard core cars.............thats just not realistic. Subaru exsisted years before they got into motorsport and will continue to exsist years after too. If you don't like their products go buy something else from one of your cottage industry type manufacturers TVR or Lotus maybe.....if those guys could actually produce something affordable for your average Joe that is.

:)

Thanks for the lecture :P

No one has said that Subaru should produce ONLY hardcore motorsport oriented cars... only that they should have atleast ONE.

Once again , a lame excuse.

You don't have to be Lotus or TVR...

Take look at VW or better still, Ford of Europe.

Every model is fun to drive from basic Fiestas to mid-rang Focus to rep-mobile Mondeo.

Little wonder they are the only part of the Ford empire to be making money.

Both Ford and VW have produced some absolute Dogs of cars over the years and and still do in some markets.......

Loren, go drive the current model STi, if you still think Subaru aren't up to your lofty expectations, buy another manufacturers car that suits.

Cheers

Mate you need to relax, you'll find most people on here are loyal to subaru, and many of us feel that the new STI is a little soft (it is) we aren't the only ones many publications have had extensive road and track use of a current STI and have the same issues.

True but irrelevant as we are talking about the here and now, with reference to Ford of Europe, not other markets.

So 1/5 for the reply.

:P

I've driven the AA COTY winning (can't get bigger indictment than that) NZDM STI 2.5 and it was a bag of pooz.

Point-to-point on NZ roads a Golf GTI would run rings around one.

I think Loren has driven a JDM 2.0 ?

Point is you've missed the point.

I think the point is you didn't make a point. not one strong enough to hear anyway :P

Latest comparison with Focus RS and Mini JCW is not good news for the STI.

Interesting read in MOTOR a couple of issues back, Stock STI vs MRT engine upgrade vs Whiteline suspension upgrade kit.

Obviously the stock STI was out gunned by both upgrades and the two upgrades were tenths of a second apart with the MRT upgrade ahead.

The RS presents much more predigree a than an STI, and despite being FWD is more interesting and arguably better looking.

I mean what happened? how can they have such great previous models throughout the platform range and then release something thats been hamstrung? but then i've never been an Impreza fan..

I'm the most relaxed guy you'll ever meet..............there's nothing wrong with some healthy debate,as long as it doesn't get personal. I don't agree with a couple of other people here thats all. Not really interested in what the media (either print or TV) have to say about cars would rather sample them myself.

Newsuba..........not withstanding the above, here & now lets try the Ford KA pile of Poo, the point is that just about every manufacturer has a Dud in their line up.........Lets just agree to disagree.

FAIL.

Fail fail fail. WTF.

All this about producing boring cars in order to make money for the flash ones... They already do - and the STi IS the flash sports car. Any thing better is a limited run for pure enthusiasts. There is no need for an auto STi, they already have an auto turbo impreza to please the yanks... which is damn close to the STi anyway! I mean... you can't dull down the STi.. that's what the WRX is for. Just... ugh. FAIL.

I am so turned off by subaru now. Pre 2003 only for me thanks.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
