brother had one on his legacy they were nice enough to leave it for him when they took his car along with his steering lock one of those ones with an alarm and its yellow.

This was around the lake in hamilton

I still don't know how they broke it off but it was uses afterwards and wouldn't lock and as he didn't have insurance we couldn't make a claim with them, sigh.

A few tips (I know they seem obvious, but you would be surprised):

Park where there is plenty of foot traffic. If in a car park - near the entrance/exit ways.

Remove EVERYTHING that is valuable from inside the car, such as removable head decks, auxiliary adapters (i.e. an Ipod cable), GPS *AND* the GPS mounting bracket.

I work in downtown Auckland, and I know from experience that it makes no difference if you park in a Wilson car park 'with cameras' as opposed to parking down a dark alley. We can only make it as difficult as possible for would-be thieves.

On a side note (to cheer up the victims a little!):

I caught a car thief scoping out the car park I used to park in (basically had a tool in his hand, and about to pop the passenger's side door lock) when I worked at a different building (out the back of Britomart Station). There was a another fella nearby and we both grabbed him, took him to the security guards inside the Britomart and police arrested him there and then.

Suffice to say: the journey between the car park and the Station was quite a rough one and the would-be thief might have arrived a little worse for wear.
