Help!! Clutch Slipping .. rebuilt engine Clutch looked over

hey all ... I Bought a tidy wrx sti v3 96 with a cooked Motor got it very cheap ..

spent the coin and had the motor rebuilt ect.. Vehicle had been sitting for 8 months..

picked it up last night .. Clutch is Slipping badly under load or boost ... driving nanna No problem .. (motor being run in though so not thrashing it )

So two parties involved ... The guy who rebuilt the motor (specialises in subarus) and the people who fit the motor (unqualifyied but experianced and have all the gear, do alot of work on cars in there garage including advanced work like engine conversions) they also fitted the clutch to the flywheel

Guy who rebuilt motor says Clutch Looks recently replaced and definatly shouldnt be up for a new clutch also said flywheel looked good..

Any Ideas anybody ??

was mentioned Maybe the people who fitted motor didnt Tighten Up The pressure plate after aligning ..

I have asked Them .. They assure me This was done..

can any of my Clutch cylinder make it slip? I havnt bleed system yet But it doesnt seem to need it ..

if it wasnt for this problem id be over the moon ... vehicle Runs excellant and all other running seems to be in good order ..

Where in the pedal travel does the clutch begin to engage? If its right at the top of the travel, then its possible that the adjustment on the shaft that connects the pedal to the master cylinder needs to be wound out to let the clutch engage fully (if the adjustment is wound in too tight, the clutch pedal may still be slightly depressed even though your foot is off the pedal). Its a simple case of using a 6mm spanner to rotate the shaft a turn at a time and check the pedal for when the clutch is engaging.

Was the clutch plate, pressure plate and bearing all replaced? Or just the clutch plate?

The pressure plate can loose tension, especially if the engine has got real hot.

Thats a Good thought ... The motor Must of got super Hot when previos owner cooked it ... Knock sensor melted and all .. heads warped .. whole motor a throw away basically ...

So im thinking Thats a posibility ..

im unsure If its a full clutch kit thats been replaced or just a plate .. all I know is the mechanic said The clutch looks to be recent and appears in good order so we didnt go for a new one when puting in new motor

But thinking about It .. The clutch plate oviously has Meat on it .. so thats not the problem..

The flywheel Looks ok so that shouldnt be the problem But the Pressure plate wouldnt be able to be inspected for tension..

does that sound right?

i had to look at this vid to understand how a clutch works haha

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
