3.900 ration in a non turbo?

my 90 VZ has a 3.900 rear diff, can anyone shed some light on this? cheers

Gen 1 NA manuals are usually 3.9. Some with LSD rear.

my rs and gt i have got parts from both had the 4.11 diff, duna if non turbo different

turbo and N/A are different, autos are different as well.

LSD was a turbo only feature.

I don't know why this is a big shock, I thought it was common knowledge that the RS/GT manuals got the 4.111 LSD rear while all TZ/VZ manuals got the 3.900 open rear. No idea on the Mi/GL/GX because they had features like hi/lo gearing and on the fly push button 2wd/4wd.

My FWD BC2 thing was a 3.7 i believe. Non turbo VZ was a 3.9, Turbo auto GT was a 4.444 and manual RS was a 4.111. GT30 was a 4.111 but it looks like some outbacks still have 4.444 finals

could have been a 4.44 in the gt now u say that, shaft should still fit,

Assuming your talking about the center prop shaft - diff ratio/type doesnt make a difference. Just gearbox style and what body shape your putting it into.

got the rear cv shaft from gt bc5 sedan 2 fit into my bc5 rs

was really just wanting to know if this was factory, and what sort of /rpm @ 100kph etc..

i dont think its l.s.d as my old GT had 4.111 lsd on the sticker.

I've heard the HX20s scored that same kind of 3.9 - anyone able to confirm? It would make getting a certain gearbox in sooner far more realistic

Just cos there's no sticker doesn't mean its not lsd.

No point sticking a 6 speed in without a hub conversion and R180 rear.

Quite a few models got 3.9 rear. Only $50 from pick a part so not exactly hard to find.

Hub conversion and R180 is more for the Brembos, or if you're actually putting some semblence of power through to the ground surely. I'm not doing the Brembos yet as that's gonna be another grand, and we're talking what, 150hp at a stretch. Hardly going to blow an R140 with a 20E blowing its forehead vein to move ;D
